Wendy Seyb
WENDY SEYB made her Broadway debut this fall as the choreographer of The Pee Wee Herman Show, under the direction of Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). This show was also filmed for an HBO Special planned to air March 2011. Recently, she worked alongside Director Marc Bruni and Musical Director Andy Einhorn for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a co-production between The Philadelphia Theatre Company and Paper Mill Playhouse. Wendy choreographed the award winning (Outer Critics Circle Award) The Toxic Avenger Musical, under the direction of Tony Award-winner John Rando (Urinetown) and book and lyrics by the Tony Award-winning team (Memphis) Joe DiPietro and David Bryan (Bon Jovi). Toxic enjoyed a successful Off-Broadway run along with an international premiere in Toronto in 2009. Toxic garnered Wendy three nominations for her choreography: a Lucille Lortel Award, a Joe A. Callaway Award and Toronto's DORA Award. Wendy also joined Mr. Rando's creative team for TheatreworksUSA's free summer theatre production of Click, Clack, Moo, which brought live theatre to New York City children at the Lucille Lortel Theatre; and is currently on tour. Click, Clack, Moo brought Wendy another Lortel nomination making her a double nominee for Best Choreography for the 2009-2010 Off-Broadway Season. Wendy also worked with Mr. Rando as the choreographer of Harry Connick Jr.'s The Happy Elf at the First Stage Children's Theatre in Milwaukee, WI. In 2007 Wendy received the Golden Nose Award for dance comedy Super Nova and was a 2007 nominee for the New York Innovative Theatre Award for Best Choreography/Movement for her work on the physical play The Great Conjurer Other theatre highlights include Nickelodeon's Storytime Live! (National Tour/Radio City), And The World Goes 'Round (Prince Music Theater), Mel and El: Show and Tell (ars Nova), Die Hard: The Puppet Musical (45th Street Theater), But I'm A Cheerleader (Theatre at St. Clements) and Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical (Kraine Theater). Wendy directed and choreographed the sketch comedy show Paired Up and Pumpin at The Peoples Improv Theater. Her choreography has also been seen at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), New York International Fringe Festival, the A-Train Plays and the workshop of the theatrical event Cheer with Richard Frankel Productions.
