Vondie Curtis-Hall
VONDIE CURTIS-HALL originated the role of Marty, James "Thunder" Early's original manager, in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls. Other theatre credits include: Stardust, Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music (1981), It's So Nice To Be Civilized (1980, Broadway debut), Williams and Walker (American Place Theatre, 1986), and The War Party. Films include Sugar Hill, Crooklyn, Drop Squad, and William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet. His credits as a director include the films Gridlock'd, Glitter, Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story, Waist Deep, as well as episodes of television shows The Shield, Firefly, Chicago Hope, MDs, and The Sopranos. TV appearances: Dr. Dennis Hancock on the CBS medical drama Chicago Hope, recurring roles on series such as Soul Food, I'll Fly Away, and ER (Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series).
