GABY ALTER is a recipient of the 2008 Jonathan Larson Grant, the 1997 San Francisco Theater Critics' Circle Award and the 2004 New York Fringe Festival Songwriting Award. Current projects include Band Geeks (with Tommy Newman, Mark Allen and Gordon Greenberg), which will appear at the 2009 NAMT New Works festival; Reality! (with Itamar Moses), which was workshopped at the Cape Cod Theatre Project in 2008; and the pop song cycle Twenty-Nine (with Tommy Newman). Gaby has written songs and music for PBS TV's Kids Block, film, radio and video games. His songs been performed at Joe's Pub, The Public Theater, Lincoln Center Library, Goodspeed Musicals, and Barrington Stage Company.
