Annette Nevin Shelby
ANNETTE SHELBY studied theatre arts at Alabama College, the University of Alabama and Louisiana State University where she acted in and directed a variety of student productions. After her career took her in other directions, she maintained a strong interest in the theatre, regularly attending major theatre events in New York and London. She also has been active in community and children's theatre and has served on the Board of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Annette is currently Professor Emerita at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she taught management--largely to MBAs. While at Georgetown, she won both school and national awards in teaching, research, and service. She was the first woman to receive tenure and to be promoted to Full Professor in the business school. Her academic publications have been widely recognized. In addition to service to professional organizations through membership on various boards and committees, she has served on the Board of Stillman College and the President's Cabinet at the University of Alabama. Membership on advisory committees includes the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, and the March of Dimes. For two years, she co-chaired the Ambassadors Ball, the major fund-raising event for the Washington Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Currently, she is a Board member of the Lupus Foundation of America.

Bio as of September, 2006.
