ALEXIS GREENE is an author, journalist, and theatre critic whose writings have appeared in newspapers and magazines across the country. She has authored several books including The Story of 42nd Street, The Lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway (with Julie Taymor), the biography Lucille Lortel: Queen of Off-Broadway, and Women Who Write Plays: Interviews with American Dramatists. She holds a PhD in theatre from City University of New York's Graduate Center and has taught at Vassar College, Hunter College and New York University.
